A pair of lion mask silver salts,hallmarked Dublin 1910,made by Sharman D Neill, Belfast.
Maker and retailer's marks.
The heavy silver salts [8 ozs] of dumpy cauldron shape, with three heavily maned lion masks, unusually each mask supported with a pair of forelegs.

Sharman D Neill was established in Belfast in 1902,and traded variously in Donegall Place, at No 12 in this period.

The year these salts were made the keels were laid and the frames were started for the Titanic.......the salts are still with us!
