William Ashford 1746-1824
Born in Birmingham, came to Ireland in 1764 and settled in Dublin.
He won premiums at the Dublin Society of Artists and was a regular exibitor until1880, he was elected President of this society in 1813. Also, first President of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1823.

This drawing is in good condition with a vertical central fold not over noticable and another small crease top right and a small tear.
